Articles is an older XOOPS module for managing a simple set of articles, news, blogs or such. It has only simple permissioning and categories. Good for a simple single-blog or such.

Articles is a fine module for managing simple set of blog- or news-style content. You can specify categories and that's about it besides adding content. The templates need extensive modification to display in a manner suitable for usage on a website (i.e., templates look like a developers version).
